I know it’s a bit late for this, but I wanted to share some of my favorite things I found in May. So, here we go!
The Boardwalk Resort at Walt Disney World: While I technically stayed there in April, I left on May 1st so I’m counting it! I have to say this might be my new favorite resort. I stayed here because my usual Polynesian was booked up but I think this one might become my new routine! Beautiful and quiet, it’s also within walking distance to Epcot (my favorite park) and a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios. I’m currently at the Poly for my next trip, but I think I might be switching it to the Boardwalk as soon as I can. Go go DVC!
This trip was part of checking off one of my bucket list items: going to both US Dapper Days in one season. I had my best friend Sofia of Sofia Zakia Jewelry there alongside me the whole way. We also got to complete one of our personal goals and did a couples costume as gender swapped Cap and Winter Soldier. We’ve started to plot the next one as well, so stay tuned for more Marvel madness!
My new favorite salad: tomatoes, cheddar, and pepperoni with vinaigrette. I made this up rather by accident, but it’s my new go-to snack. Take some tomatoes (I like the little heirloom ones) and add chopped cheddar, salami and pepperoni then toss with a vinaigrette made with white balsamic and a good portion of crunchy salt and fresh ground pepper. YUM. Because it’s such a basic recipe, you can mess around with it as you see fit. I could definitely see myself dropping the meat for cucumbers and I’m sure the hubs would like it better if I put some raw onions in there.
The Fairytale Club: This is a new kit club and if you follow me on Instagram or saw my post where I showed a TN spread, you’ve seen some of the product from it. Andrea’s style is hand drawn and inspired by fairy tales and Disney. I recently posted about the launch party she had as well. I’ve been a fan of Andrea’s since I found her class on Big Picture Classes and since then, I’ve been lucky enough to become friends with her. She’s got big awesome plans and dreams so she’s definitely someone to be following!
Barkbox’s Super Chewer box: After my sister had sent Finny and Ruby a standard Barkbox, I learned that they’d started a new box just for “super chewers” which my dogs very much are. We got our first box quickly and opened it up to find two toys and two bags of treats. After a month of play, both toys look almost new (you can see some little teeth marks but it’s not ripped or torn) and the two bags of treats were very popular. Win win! I’m already looking forward to this month’s box. Wow, are my dogs actually about to have a collection of toys? I can’t believe it!
@corgisinfood: This Instagram account is everything. Someone’s photoshopping corgis into food and it’s glorious. Check it out!
May the Fourth: Of course, I had to celebrate Star Wars Day! I celebrated in the traditional way by watching as many of the movies as I could (there’s now more Star Wars than Star Wars Day can hold) but I also decorated my planner and set up my Heidi Swapp Lightbox on the theme. I finally got my young Obi-Wan Tsum while at Epcot so I’m glad he was able to join Mace Windu in on the fun.
So that’s it for May! I’m hoping to start sending out emails on a weekly basis with inspiration, finds and other things. If you’d like to get on that list, there are signup forms under the post and at the top of the page. So until next time, thanks for reading and have a great day!
