I’m not even going to try and hide it. If there are two things I love most when it comes to fashion, it’s dressing on a theme and capsule wardrobes. So, my squirrely little brain conspired to make the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup of my two fashion favorites. It all started rather accidentally really… I saw the Halloween Harlequin dress from the Pin Up Girl site, thought it would be cute for a few themed events over the month and grabbed it in my size. But then, I kept finding more things: an Angelic Pretty bat purse here, an ugly Halloween sweater, a skirt from Hell Bunny… then I finally get around to looking at what I have and wow! What does it include?
A: Pin Up Girl’s Halloween Harlequin Jenny dress. Pretty much sold out at this point but it could easily be replaced by several dresses.
B: a cropped black sweater from Unique Vintage
C: a black turtleneck
D: a cropped black cardigan
E: two ugly Halloween sweaters. I grabbed these off Etsy so I’d say start there! You could also probably get away with one but one of mine was on sale so I took advantage!
F: a polka dot blouse from Unique Vintage
G: a black sateen Jenny skirt from Pin Up Girl
H: a Harlow skirt from Hell Bunny
I: a Harlow blouse from Hell Bunny
J: a pair of black trousers
K: a pair of jeans. Mine are high waisted from Rock Steady to keep with the vintage theme.
L: an on theme purse if you’re kooky like I am. Mine’s a past year’s from Angelic Pretty!
Things I’m not including in the capsule but I’ll definitely be using? Black shoes and on theme jewelry. I have some great pieces from Luxulite and past years at Tokyo Disney. Shoes can be anything! I wore this outfit with a pair of black glitter Kate Spade Keds but I also have saddle shoes, ballet flats, a pair of boots… whatever you’ve got, wear it! Most ladies have at least one or two pairs of black shoes so put them in heavy rotation.
For jewelry, I also suggest checking out FemmeDeBloom on Etsy or the aforementioned Luxulite for cute retro-inspired Halloween pieces. But really, just keep your eyes peeled! You can find some great Halloween jewelry in a lot of places! Check costume stores, Target, etc.
So, realistically, how many outfits can you make? By my count at least 16 which is two weeks plus some! And this is without mixing and matching shoes, accessories and more! You could mix in some fun tights or leggings, maybe add a sprinkle of lavender for a more pastel goth look. The possibilities are only limited by your closet and creativity. I’ll be posting my daily looks on my Instagram so be sure to follow me there to see how I wear it!
I hope this inspired you to make your own wardrobe a bit more festive. I’m already planning my Christmas one out, especially since it’ll be required for some upcoming travel. I’m not going to be a fashion blog by any stretch of the imagination but I do like including things that make holidays more fun and themed outfits are definitely on that list! How about you? Do you love festive dressing? Let me know in the comments below! Send me pictures! You may inspire an outfit of mine! Have a great day!
