This is the Christmas card I made for a dear friend who introduced me to one of my favorite shows, Adventure Time. I grabbed a cute and cozy photo of Finn and Jake and then cut it in my Cameo. I used a pre-made cut file, specifically this chevron card. It takes a bit of fanangling to get it going properly but if you’re familiar with ungrouping elements, you’ll be just fine.
I used exclusively Martha Stewart paper for this one, specifically the faux bois/reindeer print in the Cottage Christmas pad. I don’t know why, but I found the idea of the reindeer being sideways funny, so I just went with it! Next I went with a line of candy stripe washi tape along the bottom. I have a thing for the washi tape border and I use it a lot. It’s great for an easy pop of interest.
After that, it was time to add stickers! I didn’t want the design inside to detract from the front view so I went with the subtler snowflake stickers (also MSC), the big holly branch (MSC again) and a couple of items from Studio Calico: mistable snowflakes, misted with Mister Huey’s Calico Shine. The circle tag is from In a Creative Bubble’s Christmas Circle Tags printable.
Now onto the envelope! It’s a standard white A7 from Paper Source. Onto it, I added another line of washi from that same pack, an ornament I cut on my Cameo (a download from the 2012 Advent Calendar set) and an ornament sticker from MSC. The “stamp” is from the Christmas cutouts 1 printable from In a Creative Bubble. The tag is one I got from a Studio Calico gift with class pack which I switched the original twine in for some MSC white and green twine. The thickers are some I’ve had lying around. Sadly, I don’t know the brand on those.
On the back, I chose to seal it with another MSC sticker, with a IaCB circle tag on top and one of the circles from the SC December Daily class layered on top of that.
I’m hoping that once my friend receives the card, I can take a better picture of the front. I added more and totally spaced on remembering to take a picture!
